Anupama Ramalingam, M.D.
Dr. Anupama Ramalingam MD is a Sleep Medicine specialist with additional expertise in Adult Psychiatry. She completed her residency in psychiatry and fellowship in sleep medicine at University of Missouri-Columbia. She is board certified in both sleep medicine and psychiatry. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome (RLS), insomnia, circadian rhythm disorders and parasomnias with emphasis on treatment of sleep disorders as a means for disease prevention.
Her psychiatry training makes her keenly aware of the vital interplay between sleep health and mental health. She is always cognizant about how insomnia and some psychiatric disorders may be contributing to each other. Dr. Ramalingam is uniquely positioned to understand and manage patients with insomnia and treat or appropriately refer any co-morbid psychiatric disorders (depression, anxiety etc) that may be contributing to the insomnia. She also has special interest in evaluating pediatric patients with different sleep disorders. She emphasizes the importance of behavioral sleep medicine and its role in the treatment of sleep disorders.
My goal at ISIA is to provide patients with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic tools available in sleep medicine and to help patients understand the basis of their treatments. By carefully listening to my patients, I employ specific diagnostic testing when needed to tailor a therapeutic plan for each individual."
