Patel is a fellowship trained sleep medicine doctor who is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Sleep Medicine. He has a passion for the sleep medicine profession and has dedicated himself to the field, continuously seeking to improve upon his skills and expertise in order to better serve the patient. The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona is a premier comprehensive sleep disorders center under the guidance of a fellowship-trained and board certified sleep disorders specialist, Ruchir P. Patel, M.D.
After completion of his training in Internal Medicine, he decided to dedicate his medical career in learning the science of sleep as well as providing excellent care in the treatment of sleep disorders. He is one of few Sleep Disorders Specialist in Arizona that has completed formal fellowship training in sleep medicine and is certified to diagnose and treat all sleep disorders, in both adults and children.
He practices only evidence based medicine and regularly consults with the leading sleep experts throughout the country to ensure that he constantly learning new and emerging therapies.
The mission of The Institute is to aid each individual patient in the maintenance of a healthy mind and body through the improvement of one’s quality of sleep.
The Institute does not focus only on the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea as many centers but rather attempts to review the patient as a whole to properly determine what the nature of the sleep disorder is and the source. We use various methods to treat individuals including cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia to aid individuals in "learning how to sleep again". Dr. Patel and his team are very well experienced in the treatment of other sleep disorders such as narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia, sleep walking / talking, REM sleep behavior disorder, restless legs syndrome, shift work sleep disorder and other circadian rhythm disturbances such as jet lag, and various pediatric sleep disorders including pediatric insomnia, sleep apnea, and other pediatric sleep disturbances.
The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona is also able to provide sleep-related medical equipment such as CPAP equipment and CPAP-related supplies to our own clinic patients that have sleep apnea under the following insurance plans: Blue Cross Blue Shield, United HealthCare, Aetna, and a few other commercial insurance plans. This is a service that is provided for patients that would prefer to have everything taken care of at one center but is completely optional and not required. We are unable to provide equipment to any patient with Medicare, AHCCCS, and Tricare. If you are interested in this service please call our office and request to speak to our billing department.
